Description
Who we are
About Stripe
Stripe is a financial infrastructure platform for businesses. Millions of companies—from the world's largest enterprises to the most ambitious startups—use Stripe to accept payments, grow their revenue, and accelerate new business opportunities. Our mission is to increase the GDP of the internet, and we have a staggering amount of work ahead. That means you have an unprecedented opportunity to put the global economy within everyone's reach while doing the most important work of your career.
About the team
Stripe's People Systems Team sits at the intersection of technology and human experience. We are internal consultants who turn ambiguity into scale. Part of the People Solutions org, we partner with Corporate Technology, Finance, and the wider People team to build a world-class employee experience. We are a "strategy-first, quality-execution-always" team that values technical rigor, nimble problem-solving, and a deep empathy for the employees we support.
The People Salesforce platform is at the heart of how we deliver and continuously improve the employee experience at Stripe—powering HR service delivery, case management, and the workflows that connect People teams to the people they support.
What you'll do
We are looking for a technically sharp Salesforce Developer to engineer, scale, and own our internal People platform powered by Salesforce. This is a developer role first—you'll write Apex, build Lightning Web Components, design and implement integrations, and architect programmatic solutions to complex HR service delivery challenges. You'll also bring strong platform configuration skills, knowing when a declarative solution is the right tool and when it is not.
You'll be the primary technical owner of our People Salesforce org, balancing keep-the-lights-on operations with high-impact engineering projects. You'll work closely with People Operations, People Solutions, GTMS, Corporate Technology, and vendor teams to ensure our Salesforce platform is well-governed, deeply integrated, and continuously improving. The ability to move fluently between writing production Apex and configuring a Flow—choosing the right tool for the right problem—is core to how this role adds value.
Responsibilities
Write clean, well-tested Apex (triggers, batch jobs, REST and SOAP callouts) and build Lightning Web Components to solve problems that exceed the boundaries of declarative tools. Serve as the technical anchor for our People Salesforce environment, owning architecture decisions from design through deployment
Build robust, maintainable declarative solutions—including Advanced Flows and Approval Processes—and know exactly when to escalate to Apex or LWC. Apply sound engineering judgment at the declarative and programmatic boundary to keep the platform maintainable and auditable
Own and optimize data pipelines and API integrations between Salesforce and core People systems (e.g. Workday), ensuring reliable, secure, and auditable data flows across our People tech stack. Evaluate and implement middleware tooling (e.g. Workato, MuleSoft) where appropriate
Maintain strict data privacy standards by managing profiles, permission sets, sharing rules, and field-level security for sensitive HR data—upholding a rigorous posture on platform governance, change management, and SOX-relevant controls
Own the deployment pipeline to ensure smooth, well-tested releases of new HR features with minimal disruption to the People teams that depend on them
Monitor app health and performance across critical People workflows, triage incidents with urgency and rigor, and implement observability best practices—including logs and metrics—so issues are detected and resolved before they impact employees
Build complex reports, dashboards, and CRM Analytics to help the People team track key metrics like case resolution times, employee sentiment, and service delivery performance—translating data into actionable leadership insights
Work alongside the broader People Solutions team to translate business requirements into a prioritized Salesforce product roadmap, driving initiatives from discovery through deployment and ensuring our platform evolves ahead of Stripe's growth
Partner with Global People Operations, People partners, Corporate Technology, and other stakeholders to translate complex business needs into scalable technical requirements—setting clear expectations, managing project timelines, and escalating risks proactively
Identify and evaluate AI-powered Salesforce capabilities (e.g., Agentforce, Einstein features) and emerging tools that can drive meaningful efficiency gains and improve the employee experience
Minimum requirements
5+ years of hands-on Salesforce development experience, including production Apex and ideally Lightning Web Components, in roles supporting internal employee-facing systems or HR tech
Proficiency in Salesforce Apex (triggers, classes, batch/scheduled jobs, callouts) with a solid understanding of LWC and the Salesforce component framework
Deep knowledge of Service Cloud (Case Management, Knowledge Base, Omni-Channel) and Experience Cloud (Employee Portals) with proven ability to design and deliver solutions end-to-end
Strong command of Salesforce Flow, Approval Processes, and configuration tooling—you know when to build declaratively and when not to
Hands-on experience with API integrations, data pipelines, and at least one integration platform (e.g. Workato, MuleSoft, or similar)
Proven experience handling highly confidential data with strict governance and security controls
Salesforce Certified Platform Developer I (or higher) required. Salesforce Certified Administrator or Platform App Builder also valued
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to set clear expectations with senior stakeholders and the confidence to escalate issues when necessary
Ability to lead cross-functional projects, navigating ambiguity and high-pressure timelines with a sense of urgency
Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
Preferred qualifications
Experience with HR Service Cloud and Salesforce Platform Developer II certification
Familiarity with HRIS platforms (e.g., Workday, Greenhouse, ADP) and deeper hands-on experience with integration tools (e.g., MuleSoft, Workato, Zapier)
Experience working in an Agile or Scrum environment using tools like Jira
Familiarity with HR service delivery models, case management workflows, and the broader People and HR technology landscape
You are a humble individual who brings clarity to ambiguous problems and builds durable solutions that scale—and who knows when elegant configuration beats clever code
